Predator 2 (Stephen Hopkins – 1990) B-

Set in the “futuristic” gang-ruled Los Angeles of 1997 the second entry in the Predator franchise is fine. It lacks the clarity and simplicity action scenes of the first one but it still works. I like Danny Glover as an unlikely action hero and a hard-headed LA cop and the hot crime infested streets of LA make for a fun setting for the trophy-hunting Predator. I like the final battle and the closing scenes of this one too. What I missed was the well choregraphed and shot action scenes. The worst here is probably the really annoying subway gun fight scene that is incomprehensible and hides all the details with flashing lights for what seems like 20 minutes. That was not good.
