This film works really well on all levels. I like the story, the characters and the excellent CGI. It tells of the semi-plausible story of how Earth became the planet of the apes via a rebellion of  the extra smart (long story, but it involves a certain drug and a lab) ape, Cesar. The main power of this film is that it makes us not sure who to root for. I mean we are supposed to root for the humans. Right? Or is it the apes? After all, they were treated like crap. In the end we get an impressive movie that is fun, smart, well made and has a great emotional center.
