This is more or less Larry David complaining about everything and anything and converting uptight southern conservatives into liberal fun-loving New Yorkers. David is ideal for a role like this. It’s pretty much the same character he plays on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. Since I love that show, “Whatever Works” kinda worked for me but it was a bit too much of a silly farce and a minor Allen film. admittedly, I also really liked David’s character breaking that fourth wall and going off on monologues straight to the viewers.
