I actually really liked the HBO series. It was smart, funny and unique.  It even featured the “City” as almost it’s own character. Not here. This was so unnecessary and superfluous that it was painful to watch at times. This movie is also a prime example of an “insider’s film” or a “made for fans film”. If one has never seen the TV show, their experiecne with this movie will suck even more.
