Children of Men (Alfonso Cuaron – 2006) A

Wonderfully shot and set in the near future, this one is an effective film about so many subjects that ring true (immigration, terrorism, patriotism, national security…). Clive Owen delivers an excellent performance as a man who is forced to be a hero even though he got into the whole mess for the money. I found it interesting that he does not even use a gun, not even sure he would know how, throughout the whole movie. Michael Cain is fantastic here too.
