Built in a series of short parts, the film goes through two years in the lives of a few New Yorkers. There is a lot going on here in what seems to be on the surface a very simple story. Allen deals with Religion, adultery, marriage, friendship, the meaning of life and the dynamics of families. All this is wrapped in a brilliant entertaining package that is funny and touching and performed by a perfect set of actors.
